Chrome OS puts the cloud in your hands

Google unleashed the Chrome OS on the world today, shipping it in a limited-edition prototype laptop outfitted with the kind of hardware and specs that it expects manufacturers to use with the browser-based operating system. Chrome OS represents a major step forward for cloud computing, with single-serving Web sites getting rebranded as easy-access apps and the nascent HTML5 underpinning the whole show.

It's far from perfect, though. Not all of Chrome-the-browser's extensions run on Chrome-the-OS, and although it boots and wakes fast, it lags in other areas. At the end of the day, it's a Netbook, perhaps more G1 than Nexus One. It's the operating system that makes it so exciting.

Steve Jobs Terpilih Jadi "CEO of the Decade"

SAN FRANCISCO, KOMPAS.com - CEO Apple Steve Jobs terpilih sebagai "CEO of the Decade" versi Marketwatch atas kesuksesannya membawa Apple menjadi perusahaan teknologi terbesar di dunia. Steve Jobs terpilih sebagai "CEO of the Decade mengalahkan kandidat lainnya yakni CEO Amazon Jeff Bezos dan CEO Google Eric Schmidt.

Kalau tahun 2000 nilai kapitalisasi pasarnya 5 miliar dollar AS, saat ini mencapai 291,9 miliar dollar AS.

Record-equalling Inzaghi says his secret is passion

AC Milan's Filippo Inzaghi may be facing a long road back from injury but he will be sustained by the emotions he felt when scoring his 70th UEFA club competition goal on 3 November.

It has been a bittersweet fortnight for AC Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi. His season was ended by a knee injury yet pride is the 37-year-old's overriding emotion after he struck twice in the 2-2 draw against Real Madrid CF on UEFA Champions League Matchday 4 to take his tally to 70 goals in UEFA club competitions.

"The roar of San Siro that welcomed me on to the pitch, and then breaking a record," said the man nicknamed 'Superpippo', "those were very beautiful emotions that will always stay with me." The former Juventus player has defied the odds numerous times, most recently bouncing back under coach Massimiliano Allegri having endured a difficult campaign under Leonardo last term. But while his team are well placed in second in Group G ahead of their trip to AJ Auxerre, Inzaghi has to pick himself up and dust himself down.

He requires surgery on the knee ligament injury sustained in the 3-1 win against US Città di Palermo on 10 November and is unlikely to be available for European action until the Wembley showpiece on 28 May. Inzaghi knows better than most what it is to play in a European Champion Clubs' Cup final. He has lost the denouement twice, with Juventus in 1998 and with Milan in 2005, yet also lifted the trophy twice with the Rossoneri – in 2003 and 2007, when he scored a couple in the Athens final against Liverpool FC.

"Both were wonderful experiences, but I've always said the Champions League campaign where I was most important was 2003," said Inzaghi. "However, the one the fans remember is 2007, which shows how important goals in a final are. I can't choose one over the other – they're two matches I will never forget. But, as I said, if you score two goals in a Champions League final it's fairly special."

Something equally rare is to be hugged by an opposing coach after very nearly shooting down their side. That is exactly what Inzaghi got from José Mourinho after his two-goal cameo against Madrid as a substitute on 3 November. "He has always said nice things about me and there's a lot of respect even though I've never had him as a manager," said Inzaghi. "I think that to come here and face a hostile crowd, and then embrace a player who has scored two goals against you – and compliment them on their record – was a lovely gesture."

Inzaghi now stands level with ex-Madrid talisman Raúl González at the head of the European goals chart although the FC Schalke 04 forward should have opportunities to pull clear once more as his adversary recovers. "As a footballer I think your own history speaks for itself," added the former Italian international. "It's true I have been paying attention to [the record] because it's been so long we've been competing for it.

"Now he's at Schalke with plenty of chances to play, so I know he'll move ahead again. But to be in first place now makes me very happy. If Raúl moves ahead, I salute him, because he's been a great player." Inzaghi has enjoyed a similarly illustrious career and shows no sign of allowing his latest injury to prove one setback too many.

"The secret is passion," he said. "Passion for what I do, the fact I still enjoy myself like a kid, the fact there's still that strong desire to play and that I feel a lot of affection from everyone who comes to training every day which helps me work even harder. I have the best job in the world. I think that's what the younger players need to learn. I try to enjoy it to the full, enjoy it right to the last. That's probably why, at 37, I'm still getting to experience beautiful evenings like against Madrid."

Apple First Computer

Talk about a smart tech buy. An Apple computer purchased more than 30 years ago has sold for 425 times its original selling price.

An Apple-1, one of only about 200 such machines built in Apple co-founder Steve Jobs' parents' garage, sold at Christie's auction house in London today for 133,250 pounds (about $210,700). The Apple-1, which didn't include a casing, power supply, keyboard, or monitor, originally retailed for $666.66 in 1976. Apple discontinued the model in 1977.

Christie's called the computer a "historic relic" and said the auction included all the original components, including its 8K bytes of RAM, in its original shipping box, as well as a signed letter from Jobs to the original owner.

The winning bidder was Italian businessman and private collector Marco Boglion, who made his offer over the phone, according to the Associated Press.

In a time when most personal computers were sold as self-assembly kits, the Apple-1 broke new ground as the first personal computer sold with a fully assembled motherboard.

Fellow Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, who attended the auction in London, threw in an autographed letter with the sale. Wozniak said he was proud to have his work auctioned alongside such technologically notables as an Enigma, the World War II German code-making machine, and documents from British mathematician Alan Turing, a pioneer of modern computing.

"Today my heart went out as I got to see things auctioned off like the Turing documents and the Enigma machine--and the Apple I," Wozniak reportedly told journalists after the auction. "It really was an important step, (even though) I didn't feel that way when I designed it."

What is PoP?

PoP is a blog that I decided to do after watching a movie "3 Idiots". It's an indian movie which talking about people's passion.

Some people have passion in art (photography, musics, dance), some have passion for knowledge such as building machines, writing codes /  programming, etc. Many of us may experience this. We are asking; what do we really want to do? what do we really want to achieve? The answer for those questions may be our PASSION.

However, most of us do not know the answer for those questions. We often chose something which maybe what our parents want us to do, or maybe because my friends chose that. Have you ever felt why you chose the Course which you are currently studying? Is it because of your own interest and passion? Or you just chose it blindly? or was it for some other reasons?

Well, those questions are for us to answer and reflect. In my opinion, those are something we are looking for in life. To find our own passion, contribute to and live with it. It's all about passion.

For those reasons, I built this blog. Passion may come from interest and hobbies. Therefore, I will be sharing some of my interest such as, IT Stuff, Soccer news, and fresh water fish. Please leave your comment below if you have something to share about passion. Enjoy your stay and I will see you later. ^&^
